In partnership with RHWL Architects and Sir Robert McAlpine construction, we successfully completed the furniture installation for the renowned Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
The School is a global leader of creative and professional practice and promotes innovation, experiment and research. Rated the number one UK specialist institution by numerous University guides; it has over 800 students in higher education drawn from nearly 60 countries around the world.
The scope of works included a full FF&E package; from designer office furniture and interactive smartboards to mobile staging and a select choice of toasters. Our consultative approach ensured that every selection conformed to The School’s and architect’s vision.
In the classrooms Brunner’s Linos chairs and Sleight tables were specified for their versatility and ease-of-use. This converted the function of the rooms from sophisticated teaching areas to intimate performance spaces.
Using select pieces from BuzziSpace and Vitra’s soft-seating portfolios, we created a series of playful and stylish breakout areas that allowed for informal and impromptu collaboration; taking the learning and training experience outside of the classroom.
For the box office foyer, we chose Vitra’s Coconut Chair and the Swan Chair from Fritz Hansen. These iconic pieces present the public with a blend of contemporary and stylish seating before entering the main 600 seat auditorium.
Placing Humanscale’s Liberty Chair in the computer rooms and back office areas ensures that The School is a comfortable and sturdy place to work.
The School was very impressed with the service and support we delivered to help create a contemporary academic and cultural space.
