The well-established serviced office provider, Ventia Limited, was acquired by The Boutique Workplace Company in 2015 to form one aligned company. Their aim is to create innovative, design-led workplaces that promote creativity and connectivity, leading the way in co-working. They have over 20 locations across London that provide a variety of facilities, ranging from meeting rooms and co-working areas to event spaces and serviced apartments.
The client's Curtain Road location is a sixties-retro converted warehouse, offering private serviced offices and open plan floor plates along with a roof terrace. Hunter's provided a soft and loose furniture package.
The brief was industrial chic, drawing on the heritage of the area and the building itself. Desking and task seating were already in place, leaving us responsible for soft furnishings. The design was rigorously specified and approved by the client, so our main job was finding pieces that did not compromise the integrity of the design scheme.
The budget was similar to our project at the client's Golden Square site, but within this we had to source much more furniture for the larger space. We had to find products with a high spec look and feel at lower premiums.
Complementary furnishings should be eye-catching and knit together the aesthetic coherence of the interior design. The completed office space is a great example of this principle in action.
Lighting, shelving, rugs, wall fittings and cushions are all used to embellish the urban-retro ambience of the space. A myriad of finishes and tones combine to create an atmosphere that crackles with vibrant intensity.
Following the successful completion of this project and another for the same client at their Golden Square office, we are soon embarking on further installations at two more of their offices, this time providing full furniture packages.
