Client Brief

A renowned consultancy client approached Hunters to furnish their new four-floor office in London. This relocation marked an exciting milestone in a relationship that has been alive since before 2016, when Hunters first moved them into their Soho office. Five years later, the consultancy required a larger, more flexible space to accommodate their growing team and evolving work practices.

The client’s brief was to create a vibrant and adaptable workspace with the design incorporating flexible meeting rooms, breakout areas for socialising, and open-plan workspaces.

Design Approach

We collaborated with the client’s architects, cost consultants, and quantity surveyors to deliver a project that required meticulous planning to align with the client’s vision of a contemporary, flexible workspace.

To meet the brief, we specified furniture from over 20 manufacturers, including Icons of Denmark and Vitra. The design incorporated a Scandinavian inspired aesthetic with clean lines and a neutral colour palette. Nonetheless, the pieces chosen were functional, supporting dynamic working environments whilst maintaining a harmonious aesthetic.

Challenges & Results

The biggest challenge was navigating Covid-19 restrictions as the project started days after the lockdown occurred. We swiftly adapted by creating virtual showrooms and conducting Teams meetings to ensure seamless client engagement. Furniture samples were delivered directly to the construction site for review, minimising delays whilst adhering to safety protocols.

The result aligned with the client’s vision of a flexible modern aesthetic. The design fostered collaboration whilst providing employees with a dynamic environment tailored to modern working practices.
