JP Morgan Chase & Co is a multinational banking and financial services company and the world’s sixth largest bank by total assets. The UK is JP Morgan’s regional headquarters for their EMEA business. It has operated in Europe for nearly 200 years and is one of the most recognisable financial services brands in the world.
JP Morgan has a number of offices located throughout the UK. Hunters secured the contract to assist with the expansion of their Edinburgh offices after the overwhelming success of a similar project we undertook for them at their Bournemouth location. Working with the architects, Gensler and HAA Design and the fit-out company GHI Glasgow, we provided three packages, systems (including office and personal storage), loose and ergonomics.
recognisable financial services brands in the world. The Project The location in a business park away from Edinburgh’s congested city centre afforded us great access to the site. As the furniture solution was merely a replication of what we had installed at the client’ Bournemouth office, no specification was required for this project. These two factors meant that the emphasis of this operation was logistical. We had to work to a very short two week time frame in which the installation had to be completed.
The moving date for the client was non-negotiable and, given how we had successfully conducted a similar project for this client before, we were trusted to deliver under this extreme time pressure. Additionally, every person on this project had to undergo strict security screening because of the sensitive nature of the business and the access to highly confidential information. These logistical complications required meticulous planning and regimented execution.
Closely liaising with the client and other key stakeholders throughout, we worked around the clock to ensure that the project was completed on time without even the slightest compromise on quality or precision. The efficient progression of the project depended on the most exacting attention to every detail.
Desks from Knoll’s Plateau range are used throughout. Their light tones augment the bright and open workspace that is bathed in plenty of natural light. These neutral colours are lifted by the vibrant hues of the screens on the privacy workpods by Bene and Softline’s Opera sofas, both of which provide semi-private areas in an open-plan workspace to support a variety of work modes. Vitra, Brunner and Arper products are used in the breakout areas and other communal spaces.
The project was delivered on time to the same high standards we’d set during the installation in Bournemouth. Through careful coordination with all project participants and a refined understanding of the client’s needs, the operation ran like clockwork. The only drawback to the short span of the project was that we couldn’t enjoy it for longer!
