When the University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) moved to Wembley Stadium in 2014, the Hunters team was responsible for the furniture package. Fast forward to 2021 and UCFB had expanded and needed more space for students out of the stadium site.
To support its vision of being the world leader in sports education, UCFB added a brand-new bespoke campus building overlooking Wembley Stadium – complete with student accommodation. Hunters won a competitive tender to specify, procure and install the furniture on the new campus.
The biggest challenge was to find the right products to fit a state-of-the-art higher education institution. The brief included precise furniture requirements for library study areas, a large student hub, flexible workspaces for staff and spaces for students to socialise.
Working with the client’s in-house design team, procurement, and project manager we set about completing a full furniture audit. The process involved ensuring we reused as much of the existing Senator mobile storage units from the Stadium site as possible. This was part of broader sustainability requirements. We also minimized logistical impact and delays by sourcing cost-effective products from high-quality UK manufacturers
As a long-standing client, it was fantastic to work with UCFB again – they truly engaged in the process and were focused and decisive. Our dedicated team of three worked to the precise schedule and ensured that time was maximized on the furniture selection. To avoid emails piling up and adjusting to a working from home environment, we conducted online selection sessions with a few in-person workshops, in the final stages, to make key decisions. This was a great option for the client as it matched their preferred way of working and style of communication.
From bleacher-style seating with storage and power, to comfortable seating in communal areas, we curated furniture to perfectly suit the surroundings, using a colour palette of blue, tan, grey, sage, orange, yellow, with natural woods to create bright open spaces
The project went smoothly, and we quickly adapted to any schedule changes along the way. It’s great to see the finished campus in such an iconic, premier location.
