Unilever is one of the world’s leading suppliers of fast-moving consumer goods. 150 million times a day, someone somewhere chooses a Unilever product. We have a great ongoing relationship with Unilever and, as their preferred supplier, our services are often called upon.
In the past we have created ‘wow’ areas for some of their key brands in Leatherhead and provided furniture solutions for their brand offices in London. Next on the list was a brief that required creativity and brand collaboration: provide bespoke solutions for the staff canteen in Kingston, evoking the nostalgia of old Unilever branding to create a relaxed and natural environment.
The key to success for this project was guiding representatives across different brands to a co-ordinated solution. We advised and supported various decision-makers in reaching a unified outcome. We committed to making sure that everybody involved understood what we were working towards, especially those from Unilever who were new to this kind of project.
We sourced products in line with the look and feel Unilever were after to create a comfortable, café-style space. Bespoke timber-top tables and TON French café-style chairs created a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The pieces all complimented the colours and style of the old Unilever branding and the space was warm, natural and relaxed.
Alongside the café space, we also provided solutions for a few breakout areas too. We sourced Vitra Alcove sofas with Naughtone tables to create distinct, enclosed meeting areas without the need for separate meeting rooms. Bright Montis XXL chairs brought a splash of colour to the breakout areas. The space was clean and airy while still being perfectly fit-for-purpose.
Our flexibility allowed us to accommodate a few last-minute changes to better suit client’s budget and make sure they were completely happy with the finished project.
The result was an informal canteen area which acknowledged Unilever’s journey to becoming the company it is today. We used chic, modern and stylish solutions to bring Unilever’s past and present together. The breakout areas were simple and stylish, yet effective. Everything was installed on time and the client was delighted with
the outcome.
