AmTrust is a multinational property and casualty insurer, located in over 70 countries, with 9,300 employees. Our objective was to amalgamate three London offices into a single building to improve internal communication, adapt to agile working, supply a cutting edge broker lounge and introduce a large social hub.
Working alongside the fit out company, Artemis Interiors and their appointed designer, Orbit Architects, we were involved from the very start, reviewing the data from the workplace studies to fully understand the journey they were embarking on.
The design and specification period lasted two months, involving a mock up on site and many showroom visits. Once the furniture was selected our project manager began to work alongside the electrical contractor ensuring all floor grommet locations were accounted for and in the correct location to work with the furniture systems.
With all desking being electric sit-stand and 80% being for agile users, there was a large requirement for a locker system for the 550 employees to store personal items along with their hotbox.
To reduce the pressure on the facilities team with lost keys, a manual combination lock was specified. All meeting tables had integrated power, data and HDMI, with concealed cabling.
The Social Hub and Tech Bar was the biggest success, with the focus on the large central Frovi Cloud table with raw steel frame and burnt oak top, the high level cable basket allowed for biophilia and lighting to be suspended. The Senator Chemistry sit-stand benching was selected for its superior cable management system and competitive pricing.
The Broker lounge offers formal and informal meeting area using a mixture of Boss Toto and Allermuir Famiglia chairs with Senator Adlib and Famiglia tables. The installation process was spread over 2 weeks including both weekends to meet the required deadline. Employees from all three buildings were able to move in on time & to a snag-free environment.
